Maybe the TSB Bank as well.
At the last Taranaki Chamber of Commerce candidates meeting I was reported as saying that NPDC TIML funds could be used to pay for the likes of roads. Has upset some ratepayers. I stand by my comments why not invest some of the TIML funds into New Plymouth roads and infrastructure where it is needed. As long as it is government guaranteed with a competitive rate of return. Better to invest in our own future with our own resources, than to rely on the government with cap in hand hoping they will give it to us The issue of roads and infrustucture in New Plymouth is a number one issue. Under the current financial market having a Government backed guarantee on investments on New Plymouth infructucture with the TIML found is far better than being reliant on the free market for its returns. Where the ratepayers and their divined have no guarantees.
